W Train is Back From a Six Year Hiatus

The "W Train" made its somewhat surprising return as some people would say to the MTA Monday November 7, 2016 after a six year absence due to budget cuts the MTA was dealing with in 2009 and was discontinued along with the (V) train in June 25, 2010. The once Nassau (M) Line became the Sixth Avenue (M) line replace the entire (V) train route expect Second Avenue-Lower East Side and the (Q) train replaced the (W) in Queens. Now over six years forward the (W) train is back looking somewhat strong and rejuvenated as it makes the some route it did in 2004-2010. Survice change is the same for the (W) however the first three trains during morning will run from 86th Street, Brooklyn via Sea Beach Line to Astoria-Ditmars Blvd
and the last three trains will run from Astoria-Ditmars Blvd to 86th Street before midnight. The (N) now and will run express in Manhattan during weekdays and run local during late nights and weekends. The (Q) now and will no longer run in Queens its northern terminal is 57th Street-7 Avenue in Manhattan until December 30 when it will run to 96 Street in Manhattan via the Second Avenue Line. The (R) and and other subway services will remain unaffected.

So you can catch the (W) from Astoria-Ditmars Blvd in Queens to Whitehall-South Ferry in Manhattan from 6:00 a.m to 11:30 p.m Mondays through Fridays and during weekends take the (N) or (R) for alternate service.

AND HAVE FUN RIDING THE W TRAIN.
